Como siempre me pasa con los lugares, suelo preguntarme si sería o no capaz de vivir en ellos....y Melbourne es, sin duda, la ciudad en la que viviría si tuviera que mudarme a Australia.
No sólo es vibrante a nivel cultural (música en vivo en casi cada bar, restaurantes de calidad y mejores precios que Sydney, museos muy interesantes y gratuitos...) si no que en cuanto a vida 'urbana' me ha producido las mismas sensaciones que mis primeras visitas a Berlín.
Es la ciudad más europea y bohemia de Oz y a pesar del mal tiempo, la gente hace vida en la calle a todas horas.

En Melbourne tuve la suerte de coincidir con Tomás, un mallorquín que conocimos en Siem Reap (Camboya) que me enseñó lo mejor de Brunswitz y Smith (zona más underground), Greg (australiano que conocí en Japón) que me descubrió los encantos de los bares en los tejados del distrito económico (CBD), con Hiromi, ex compañera de Erasmus y a la que volví a ver tras 10 años! y como no, coincidí con mis boluditas favoritas antes de despedir a Megu que volaba a Japón por primera vez en su vida...reencuentro en toda regla con los orígenes de su familia.

As usually happens to me, I tend to think in the places I visit as I would be moving to them...and, no doubts, Melbourne would be the place for me in Australia. It has a great vibe and an exciting cultural life (live music in every bar, restaurants and nicer prices than Sydney, free interesting museums...) but it has also an awesome urban life that reminded me to my first visits to Berlin.
It's the most European and bohemian city in Oz, and although the weather is really unfriendly, people are always on the streets.

I had the chance to meet in Melbourne Tomás, a Spanish guy we met in Siem Reap (Cambodia) who showed me the udergrounds areas of Brunswitz and Smith, Greg (Aussie that I met in Japan) who took me around the best roof bars in the CBD, Hiromi, ex Erasmus mate that I met after 10 years! and, of course, I re-met my Southamerican chicks as they were on a goodbye road trip for Megu, who flew to Japan for first time in her life...an amazing trip to her origins.

Si tengo que elegir un sitio en la Costa Este seria Agnes Water y la ciudad de 1770, en alusion a la fecha en la que el Capitan Cook descubrio Australia. Es un sitio tranquilo, con playas preciosas (ande 12km por la arena!) y con circuitos en bici super bonitos.

I met Nadia again and we took a surf lesson...no comments hahaha so fun!

If I would have to choose a place in the East Coast, that will be Agnes Water and the City of 1770, the names comes from the date when Captain Cook discovered Australia. It's a quite place with lovely beaches (I walked 12km in the sand!) and great cycling tracks.

Es justo donde la costa reune al bosque tropical con el mar...pero a mi me pillo un tormenton y disfrute poquisimo a pesar de ser un sitio alucinante.

It is just the place on the Coast where rain forest meets the sea, but it was raining all the time so I couldn't enjoy it although it was an amazing place.

La ciudad es fea, Torremolinos tiene mas gracia. Pero era el punto maximo de mi viaje porque iba a bucear en la Gran Barrera de Coral. Tengo que dar las gracias a Dek y Dori, dos canadienses con los que coincidi en la inmersion, por las fotos tan alucinantes.

It's an uggly city, as Jersey Shore or Spanish Torremolinos. But it was my highlight in the Coast as I went there for diving in the Great Coral Reef. Thank you to Dek and Dori, two lovely Canadians, I got such a great pics.

Brisbane & Noosa Heads

Brisbane es la capital del estado de Queensland y la primera ciudad grande tras Sydney que visite. De hecho, fue una especie de visto y no visto ya que fui especificamente para ir al Santuario de Koalas, algo muy turistico pero una visita obligatoria.

Brisbane is Queenslad State capital and the second big city I visited after Sydney. In fact, was a flash stay as I only went there for the Koalas Sanctuary, really touristic thing, but also a must-do!

Noosa Heads

Con ganas de volver a la playa pronto, me plante en Noosa Heads, la ciudad mas cara de toda la Costa Este, pero junto a Danya (quedamos alli) nos plantamos en un camping super freak que parecia gestionado por ex militares de la Guerra de Vietnam.

Looking forward to come back to the beach, I left to Noosa Heads, the most expensive city in the East Coast, but with Danya (we met there again) booked a cheap and creepy campsite that seems managed by ex Vietnam War soldiers.

Close to the campsite was an artificial laggon made by the rain in an ex building area...amazing for swiming!
