Sydney...como en casa! / At home...in Sydney!

Es difícil explicar en un único post los sentimientos que tenemos hacia esta ciudad, y es que, como dice Belén, Sydney nos ha tratado muy muy bien!

No sólo hemos estado entre amigos que nos han hecho sentir como en casa, si no que Belén ha podido trabajar un mes y sanear su presupuesto para el resto del viaje, y además, hemos conocido gente maravillosa, así que este post va dedicado a ellos.

It's really hard to explain in just one post all the feelings we have for this city, as Belen says, Sydney treated us so so well!
We have been with friends who made as feel at home, Belén also got a job that helped her to heal her budget for the rest of the trip and we met lovely people...so this post is dedicated to them.

Cuando estábamos en Kho Rong (Camboya) viajando junto a Iona, la chica inglesa que conocimos en Laos, coincidimos desayunando en una panadería francesa con Frederique. A la gozada de poder tomarte un café con los pies directamente en la arena de la playa, se sumaron dos encuentros geniales con esta francesa aficanda en Sydney desde hace 12 años. ¿Lo mejor? Que gracias a facebook seguimos en contacto y pese a haber coincidido sólo en dos ocasiones escasos minutos....Fred no sólo nos recogió en el aeropuerto al llegar desde Bali, si no que nos hospedó en su precioso apartamento en Bronte Beach.
Belén sólo estuvo una noche porque encontró trabajo y hospedaje en seguida, pero yo tuve el placer de compartir con ella cenas y charlas durante 5 días y es una de las mujeres más increíbles que he conocido, y Belén seguro que comparte el sentimiento.

When we were in Kho Rong (Cambodia) travelling with Iona, the English girl we met in Laos, we met Frederique in a French bakery of the island. Having a coffee with ur feet in the sand is great, but was even better as we had the chance to share amazing chats with that frenchie who has lived in Australia for the last 12 years. Best of all? Thanks to facebook we kept in touch and, although we just met for 2 breakfast in the island, she picked up us from the airport when we got from Bali and hosted us in her beautiful appartment in Bronte Beach.
Belen just stayed for one night as finally she got her job really soon, but I hade the chance to stay with Fred 5 days and she is one of the most amazing women I've ever met, and I bet Belén thinks the same.

Amazing making deals with Fred...I cooked and she served Veuve Cliqot champagne!! OMG!

Ha sido mi amante australiano, jajaja. El compañero de Fred, un buldog francés, tuvo un flechazo instantáneo conmigo (sí, les pasa a todos/as) y lo cierto es que ha sido imposible resistirse a sus encantos también jejeje.

He has been my Aussie lover, hehehe. Freds companion, a French buldog, had a crush on me (it happens every day, u know..) and the truth is that I had the same crush hahaha.

Estando en Laos, esperando el bus de vuelta a la ciudad en el Buddah Park de Vientiane, conocimos a una pareja chilena encantadora que, además, vive en Sydney. Así que no sólo me acogieron unos días, si no que han sido parte de nuestra familia en Australia gracias a sus amigos argentinos, británicos e hindúes. Hemos compartido risas, fiestas, charlas y cenas. Además yo coincidí con las chicas en Melbourne en el final de mi etapa y Belén, al estar asentada en Sydney, ha podido disfrutar de ellos de forma habitual.

In Laos, waiting the bus for coming back to the city (Vientiane) from the Buddah Park, we met to a lovely Chilean couple, Carola and Javier, who...guess...they were living in Sydney. They hosted us some days, but also became part of our family in Sydney, introducing us their British, Argentinians and Indian friends, sharing meals, chats and fun. I was lucky as I also met the girls in Melbourne on my way back from the East Coast and Belén, as she stayed all the month in there, had the chance to share lots of moments with them.

La gente de Alfred Park

Hace tres años que vine a Australia por primera vez, y me hospedé en Alfred Park. Resulta que el dueño es de Málaga, y la dueña de Jerez, aunque llevan 40 años viviendo en Australia. Desde el principio tuvimos muy buen feeling y me ayudaron en todo. Esta vez me volvieron a echar un cable y estuve trabajando y viviendo en su hostal. Además de toda la gente que ha mencionado Jose Luis, también tengo que añadir a mis compis del hostal: Antonella, mi compi de trabajo, nos hemos reido mucho, y ha sido una amiga para mi, Sara, Angie, Silvia y Nat, que fueron mis compis de habitación, y no me olvido de Xusa, que nos conocimos hace tres años en el mismo hostal cuando llegué la primera vez. Ha sido como mi hogar durante un mes, y me he sentido agusto. Jose Luis dice que tan increibles son los lugares que visitamos, como la gente que conocemos en ellos, y por eso a nosotros nos ha costado dejar Sydney.

The people from Alfred Park

It's been three years since I came to Australia for the first time, and I stayed in Alfred Park Hostel. The owner is from Malaga, and his wife from Jerez, but they have raised up and lived in Australia for 40 years. From the beginning we had a very good feeling and they helped me a lot. This time, they helped me again and I was working and living in their hostel. Therefore all the people that Jose Luis just had mentioned, I have to add my hostel mates: Antonella, my work mate, we had lots of laughs, and she has been like a friend to me, Sara, Angie, Silvia and Nat, they were my room mates, and I don't forget about Xusa, we met three years ago in the same hostel when I came in my first time. It has been my home for one month, and I felt really good. Jose Luis says that as amazing are the places that we visit, as the people that we meet there, and that's why it was hard to leave Sydney.

Sydney es una ciudad amable, con buen tiempo y ordenada, pero lo mejor, sin duda, es que tiene las mejores playas urbanas del mundo. Fred y Carola nos enseñaron algunas de las más secretas junto a las famosas Bronte, Bondi, Watson Bay...

Sydney is a kind city, with nice weather and really organised, but, for sure...the best are its beaches...the best urban beaches in the world. Fred  and Carola showed us some of the hidden ones and some of the most popular as Bronte, Bondi, Watson Bay...

Divorciados!!! / Divorced!!

Jajaja, tranquilos que nos separamos pero sólo por un mes. Hemos llegado a Australia y como Belén ya se conoce el país mejor que los canguros (estuvo 3 meses en una carvana recorriéndose esta gran isla hace 3 años) va a aprovechar para quedarse trabajando y 'sanear' su presupuesto. La buena noticia es que ya tiene trabajo y le dan alojamiento. Lo malo...que después de 7 meses 24h juntos....me deja libertad justo en mi cumpleaños!! Abandonao justo cuando entro en la treintena!!

Yo (JL) empiezo el lunes mi ruta por la Costa Este Australiana y con intenión de llegar al Uluru (Outback) y bucear en la Gran Barrera de Coral. Un viaje que acabaré el 18 de mayo cuando vuelva a Sydney a recoger a mi (ex-) mujer para irnos a Nueva Zelanda.

Belén se encargará de actualizar el blog con el material de Japón, Singapur y Bali que aún no hemos publicado y de ir contando sus pericias en Sydney. Ciudad que nos ha recibido con los brazos abiertos, en gran parte gracias a Frederique. Una chica francesa que conocimos en Kho Rong (Cambodia) y que nos recogió y acogió en su casa casi sin conocernos...y yo aún sigo en su sofá!! jejeje.

Lo dicho, que hacemos un 'Tú a Bostón y yo a California' y así será más entretenido seguir nuestras aventuras porque serán dobles :)

Ha ha ha ha, no worries! Our separation it is only for 1 month. We arrived to Australia last Monday 15th April and as Belen she already visited the country (3 years ago she travelled in a campervan for 3 months), she decided to stay in Sydney and find a temporary job to heal her budget. The good news are that she already got it with accomodation included! The bad news is that, after being together for 7 months 24h....she is abandoning me the month of my 30th B-Day!!! Blue and aloneee!!!

Me (JL), I start travelling through the East Coast next Monday. My trip will follow the Coast up to the North, with intention to get to the Outback and dive in the Great Coral Barrier.

Belen will update the Blog with all the staff remaining from Japan, Singapore and Bali and telling her Sydney stories. Sydney wellcomed us so well and all thanks to Frederique, a French girl we met in Kho Rong (Cambodia) and picked us up from the airport and hosted us...actually, I'm still in her sofa, he he he.

So, we are in a 'You in Boston, Me in California' mood, but it will be even nicer for you as we will have double stories to tell you in here :)
