Saigon Skyline, Da Lat & Nha Trang

Saigon (II)

_______

One of the nicest things of cities is their skyline view and Saigon's one is amazing. We saw sunset from Saigon SkyDeck, a brand new 69 floor building. Speechless.
On the other side, Siagon (HCMC) museums are so nice and cheap (1USD entry fee) so we have visited several of them.

Phyl, our Couchsurfing Host in Saigon, helped us a lot in town! :)

Love all the Propaganda Art

Bycicle Cafe

Yes...it is a church...incredible!

Yeep..the same church :P

Bao Dai's Summer Palace

Old French Station...amazing art decó!

_____

After walking for 3h (me, JL) while Belen was taking care of the bags in the street, we found a local guest house thanks to Nguyen mum's. They took care fo me and even invited us for drinking and eating for celebrating New Year. Due to the Lunar New Year, the country gets colapse because of the internal tourism...all vietnamese travelling at the same time.

Da Lat is a really kitsch town. Full of weird things: a copy of Eiffel tower, a lake with swan shape boats, a 'Gaudi-meets-Alice in wonderland' house...the place for Vietnamese honeymooners. The best, no doubts, the French style cafés in town.

Crazy House, one of the main attractions is also a hostel

Nha Trang

_________

We stopped here only for 24h and it was a great decisition. Nha Trang is the biggest town-beach resort in the country, full of Russian tourisim and big buildings.
But the reason why we came here was diving. There is an amazing coral in here because the water temperature is cooler than in the rest of South Asia (Coral dies wat 26ºC, so here is well conserved).

___________

But the highlight of our route by the moment is Hoi An. The village where we stay at the moment is a beautiful and romantic place full of coloured paper lights, channels and old houses. A must in Vietnam.
Tomorrow we leave to Hanoi for applying for our Chinese Visa, so please, cross ur fingers and wish us good luck!

___________

Although the nowadays name of the city is Ho Chi Min City (remembering the famouse comunist leader who set free the country from the French colonialism) all Vietnamese still name the city Saigon, so can be confusing sometines.

For me (JL) is the place to live in Southest Asia, I've had a crush on the city. Belen likes it so much too, but for me, I really could live here for a while. Is so khaotic (3 million motorbikes riding against all rules), noisy but lively and beautiful too: a great balance between Asia and West.

This lady even brushed her hair before the picture, she was so nice and excited for the pic he he
