Aunque aún tenemos pendiente publicar las fotos de Chiang Mai, no podíamos dejar pasar la oportunidad de felicitaros las navidades a todos y todas los que nos seguís :)

Nuestro amigo Carlos
Desde el día 21 y hasta el próximo día 2 de enero tenemos a Carlos con nosotros por Navidad, y ha venido con 'un pan debajo del brazo': Embutido, turrones y bombones de la familia de Belén y la mía. Así que vamos a tener una super Noche Buena!

Primera parada en Asia: Bangkok / First stop in Asia: Bangkok

Nos ha costado el cambio...pasar de la dureza (en cuanto a viajar por ella se refiere) de África y llegar de golpe a uno de los puntos más turísticos del mundo como es Bangkok no es fácil.
Pero en tres días hemos conocido a los primeros locales simpáticos (jeje), nos conocemos el centro histórico, sudamos a chorro (36º y un porcentaje de humedad altísimo) y hemos probado todas y cada una de las cosas que nos encontramos por la calle, aunque para los insectos estamos esperando a que lleguen Nuria y Carlos :P

Contrastes
Es alucinante como una ciudad ( y diría que casi un país entero...) se ha adaptado al turismo occidental en tan pocos años. Bangkok está llena de europeos, americanos, australianos...y en cada esquina hay un hotel o una agencia de viajes que te organiza todo en menos de media hora. 
En concreto, Khaosan Rd, donde se concetra el 99% del turismo es una mezcla entre Jersey Shore, la Ibiza Hippy y cualquier China Town del mundo.

Navidades casi en Familia
Resulta que mañana recogemos a Carlos del aeropuerto que viene hasta el día 2. Pasaremos con él Navidad y Fin de Año, a caballo entre Chiang Mai (templos, trekking, elefantes...), Kho Tao (sacarnos el PADI) y Kho Pangan (Full Moon Party!!).
Y el 3 Nuria coge el relevo para pasar juntos Reyes y estar con nosotros hasta el 14 entre Krabi y las islas Kho Phi Phi.

It has been a bit hard, but we are already adapted to Bangkok. It is no easy to change the hard Africa for backpackers for the western oriented Bangkok: one of the bigest hubs in the world.
But in just 3 days we are already know the historical town, we have met the first nice locals, got used to swear all the time (36º C and high humidity) and have tasted almost every single food we have found in the street. Well, for the insects we are waiting for Carlos and Nuria arrival :P

Contrasts
It is amazing how a city (well, the hole country...) has adapted its way for a western public...BK is full of Europeans, Americans, Aussies...and in each corner you can find a hotel or a travel agency where to arrange all your internal trip in just 30 minutes.
Khaosan Rd, the main turistic street, is a mix between Jersey Shore, Hippy Ibiza and any China Town neighbourhood of the world.

Christmas & Friends
Tomorrow we are picking up from the airport our friend Carlos who will stay with us for Xmas and New Years Eve between Chiang Mai (trekking, temples, elephants bathing...), Kho Tao (diving!) and Kho Pangan (Full Moon Party!!).
And when he leaves, our friend Nuria lands on the 3th till the 14th, so we will stay with her in the beach around Krabi and Kho Phi Phi islands.

Bittersweet pork and chicken stew...each, less than 1 euro!
