ISLA NORTE II:
Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington.
Rotorua, la mayoría de la población aquí es nativa maorí. Además es famosa por sus balnearios de aguas termales, y su olor a azufre ya que está situada en una meseta volcánica y se pueden ver los gases que salen de la tierra. Aquí fue también nuestra primera experiencia hospedados por una familia kiwi.

Rotorua, the majority of the population here is native maori. The city is famous for its hot springs, and its sulphur smell since it's located on a volcanic plateau and you can see the gasses coming
from the earth. Here was the first time we were hosted from a kiwi family.

Taupo, la ciudad que alberga el lago más grande de Nueva Zelanda, dicen que solo el lago tiene el tamaño de Singapore. Para nosotros, el lugar perfecto para hacer ¡¡¡skydiving!!!. Además de ser el sitio más barato en todo el país para hacerlo, las fabulosas vistas del lago y las montañas nevadas de fondo, lo hicieron una experiencia inolvidable. Desafortunadamente, nos faltó hacer el Tongariro Crossing, que es un treking por un paisaje volcánico, pero estaba nevado y nos salía cara la visita con guía. Aunque tuvimos suerte al final, ya que pudimos ver el pico más famoso nevado desde la carretera, el monte de "Mordor", de "El Señor de Los Anillos".

Taupo, the city which host the biggest lake in New Zealand, someone told us that just the lake is the size of Singapore. For us, it was the perfect place to do skydiving!!!. Besides of being the cheapest place in the country for doing it, the fantastic views of the lake and the snowy montains in the horizon, made it all an awesome experience. Unfortunately, we couldn't do the Tongariro Crossing, a beautiful treking through a volcanic landscape, but everything was snow and it was very expensive to go with a guide. But we were lucky at the end, since we could see the most famous peak from the road, the mount of "Mordor", from "The Lord of The Rings".

Wellington, capital oficial y cutural de Nueva Zelanda. Uno de los museos más importantes de Nueva Zelanda se encuentra aquí, el "Te Papa", que en maorí quiere decir "contenedor de tesoros, o nuestro lugar". Desde el monte Victoria hay unas vistas espectaculares de la ciudad, y desde allí se puede ver también la casa de Peter Jackson, director de la trilogía "El Señor de Los Anillos". Pero lo que quizás más nos gustó, fue conocer a las Hannas y sus compis de piso. Nos acogieron
en su casa dos veces. Nos lo pasamos genial con ellos, salimos juntos, cada día organizábamos una cena con vino y a veces postre (las trufas heladas de Jose Luis fueron la sensación), realmente nos sentimos como unos compañeros de piso más. ¡Gracias de nuevo chicas!, os esperamos en España :)

Wellintong, the official and the cultural capital of New Zealand. One of the most important museums of New Zealand is here the "Te Papa", which in maori means "container of treasures, or our place". From Mount Victoria you have an amazing view of the city, and from there you can also see Peter Jackson's house, the director of "The Lord of The Rings". But what we liked the most, was to meet the Hannas and their flat mates. They hosted us two times. We really had fun with them, we went out together, we had dinner every day with wine for sure and sometimes with dessert (Jose Luis's truffles were the sensation), we really felt like two more flat mates. Thanks again for everything guys!, we wait for you in Spain :)
